Youth Advisory Council
Project Canoe’s Youth Advisory Council is an opportunity for young people aged 16-24 to take an active role in supporting our programs to continue to improve and grow. Members will be part of building a community with others who enjoy spending time outside in nature through sharing their perspectives, creative ideas, and learning together.

As part of the Youth Advisory Council, members will be advisors to Project Canoe’s programs and the Board of Directors, work on projects and initiatives to improve Project Canoe, assist in planning our annual Youth Welcome Campfire and help lead our year-round urban programs. We will meet virtually every other month to share perspectives, ideas, and opinions as well as continue working together on the youth selected project.

At least one year as a member on the council
Six virtual meetings throughout the year (bi-monthly)
Two - three fun in-person events (hike, movie night, skiing, etc.)
Assistance in planning our annual youth Welcome Campfire event
During meetings, collaborate with other members on the selected group project for the current year
Optional: Support leading our year-round urban programs

Access to outdoor/camping gear
Opportunity to be involved in PC community year round

Eligibility
16-24 years old
Able to attend at least five of the six virtual meetings
Able to stay engaged and committed to the council for the duration of one year (October - September)
