Partnership Programs

Partnership Canoe Trips

A Partnership Trip is an opportunity for an organization which serves youth facing barriers to work with Project Canoe in planning and providing a transformational wilderness experience for their youth . On these trips, we require a group of six youth and one staff member representing the organization to participate. The staff member ensures that someone with a relationship with the youth is there to assist youth through their growth and development.

On Partnership Trips, youth are able to share their exploration of the wilderness with peers from their communities, get to know Project Canoe’s staff, and build on their pre-existing relationship with the organization’s staff member. In addition, Project Canoe’s trips offer a supportive place for self-directed learning and recognition of each young person’s individual strengths.

To receive an information package and begin the planning a Partnership Trip with Project Canoe, please email us at info@canoe.org.

*If you have a group smaller than six youth, we ask that you enroll youth through our referral process. Check out more information on the Summer Canoe Trip page.

PArtnership Day Programs

If you are looking for something different than a multiday trip, we also enjoy connecting with organizations to create a program specifically tailored to their needs and offer single day urban adventures in Toronto.

Our urban programs offer recreational programming that meets youth where they are at year-round. Activities are run using the nature areas and green spaces in communities all across the GTA.  It is our hope to show and share the idea that outdoor recreation can be done anywhere, not just at specialized locations or out in the wilderness.

Programs include canoeing on Lake Ontario or along the Humber River,  nature hikes, scavenger hunts, snow shoeing, team building fun and more. Each program combines learning a new skill, group development, community building and reflective activities. Our goal is to help youth connect with each other as well as with the urban wilderness around them.

Contact us to chat more about our urban program offerings, or any ideas you might have for outdoor oriented programs for your group.
