THE PROJECT C.A.N.O.E. INTAKE PROCESS
If you or someone you know would like to join us on a canoe trip, download our youth application on the right (both parts) and print it out. If you would prefer to receive a copy of the application materials by mail, please call Ashton at (416) 410-0868 or email at community@canoe.org.

There are four steps to our intake process.

  1. THE YOUTH APPLICATION : All applicants must complete a youth application and send it to us. (Forms on the right for easy download) We offer financial aid to applicants when needed and will never turn down a youth for financial reasons. Note:A $50 registration fee, payable to Project C.A.N.O.E., should be submitted with the application.

Once the form is completed, please mail it to:

    Project C.A.N.O.E.
    221 Broadview Ave.
    Toronto ON M4M 2G3
  2. PERSONAL INTERVIEW: Once the application is received, our staff will review it and contact the youth to arrange for an interview.
  3. THE DOCTOR: After the interview, you will be given the forms required to take to the doctor for review and signature. All youth applicants must see a doctor before participation and have the forms signed. Please contact us if you require support with this step.
  4. THE POOL SESSION: The Coordinator will arrange for the youth to attend a pool session. This is an important part of the application process. The pool session allows us to assess the swimming ability of potential participants and to deliver basic canoe and water safety information. A slide show presentation also provides more information on the canoe trip experience.
Participation in each step of the application process is mandatory. At any stage of the application process, it may be determined that the program is not suitable for the applicant.
